Donegal County Council has finalised the contract for the design and construction of nine new social houses at Radharc na Trá Breige (Phase 4) in Malin.
Moneydarragh Construction Ltd has been awarded the contract, which was signed by members of the council executive yesterday alongside councillors of the Inishowen area.
Phase 4 of the project aims to deliver nine high-quality and sustainable homes for families within the wider Malin area. The expected completion date is July 2026.
Yesterday’s plenary meeting on housing heard that site clearance works commenced at Radharc na Tra Breige in January 2025, and foundations were completed in March 2025. Timber frames are expected by the end of May 2025.
Further projects in Malin include the redevelopment of the former Garda barracks and adjoining sergeant’s dwelling in Malin town. The contractor commenced on-site works at the end of March 2025, with completion expected in October 2025. This project will deliver two more housing units, with a total of 152 social housing units currently in development in the Inishowen Municipal District.
