A group of young students from Inishowen won a trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg for themselves and their classmates after their project won the prestigious Euroscola award.
Scoil Mhuire Buncrana students Bria Mc Caul, Molly Flanagan, Lily Jordan, Niamh Doherty and Domhnall Doherty and their classmates won the all-expenses paid trip funded by the European Union, after developing a video urging the EU to tackle digital addiction in young people.
The video was inspired by recent European Parliament calls on the European Commission to develop legislation that protects young people from digital addiction.
This week they represented Ireland’s young people at the European Parliament, as they got to experience a day in the life of an MEP.
As part of their visit, the 24 students and their teachers got to see the stunning European Parliament buildings, as well as some of the work carried out by politicians on a daily basis there.
