Group 3:
Illistrin As vs Lagan (Lagan win)
Illistrin welcomed Lagan to Corry Park in a game that was played under very difficult conditions due to the weather.
The game started even enough before Illistrin took the lead. A nice team move resulted in Eve McElwaine firing the home side in front. Lagan then grew into the game, but the Illistrin defence stood strong, and Illistrin were also causing problems at the other end. Catherine Caldwell drew Lagan level when she broke through and finished into the corner. Lagan forced Illistrin keeper Enya Mulkearns into a fine save before Illistrin were unable to get onto the end of a dangerous cross. 1-1 at the break. As the weather worsened, Lagan began to get on top and took the lead when Caldwell took advantage when she intercepted a kickout and finished excellently from outside the area. Lagan added a third with 15 minutes to go when Emily McMahon fired home from the spot after a handball. Illistrin heads began to drop, and with the weather taking its toll, Catherine Caldwell, Caoimhe Sweeney, and Emily McMahon added to the scoreline. The scoreline was harsh for an Illistrin side that battled hard and put up a great performance. Great team performances from both sides. We wish Lagan well with the rest of their season.
Cappry Rovers Bs 0-1 Bonagee United
On a cold, wet, and wintery evening at the Finn Valley Centre, Cappry Rovers U12 Girls welcomed Bonagee for a tightly contested clash. With a strong breeze at their backs, Cappry started brightly, dominating early possession and creating several good chances. However, the Bonagee goalkeeper was in inspired form, pulling off a string of quality saves to keep the score level at the break. Half-time: 0-0. In the second half, it was Bonagee’s turn to take advantage of the wind. A long-range effort from Abbie Clarke, carried by the elements, found the back of the net to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Cappry responded with determination, pushing hard for an equaliser. They struck the post and forced more saves from the outstanding Bonagee keeper, but the breakthrough wouldn’t come. Credit to both teams for serving up a great battle in extremely tough conditions. Well done to all players involved.
Convoy Arsenal 4-1 Kildrum Tigers
Convoy U12 girls welcomed Kildrum Tigers to a very wet Orchard Park. The weather conditions did not stop either team, though. Convoy came out strong and took an early lead. Kildrum continued to push and missed a few chances on goals. Neither side gave up, and both teams played a great competitive match. Final score: 4-1 to Convoy Arsenal. Thank you to Kildrum for making the journey to convoy. Thanks to referee Sean O’Donnell Convoy Arsenal goals scored by Scarlett Barnett Kildrum Tigers goal scored by Jessica McCrossan-Gallagher

Group 1:
Raphoe Town 0-2 Convoy Arsenal
Second half goals from Jenna Doherty and April Patton proved to be the difference as Convoy took victory against neighbours Raphoe in a well-contested game at Drumineney. The home side had the best of a fairly even first half but failed to create any clear chances, and the half ended scoreless at the break. Seconds after the restart, Jenna Doherty latched on to a long ball over the Raphoe defence, and while Lylah Kelly made a great save from her first shot, she reacted well to steer the rebound home. The visitors had the best of it after that, hitting the woodwork a couple of times before April Patton made the most of a defensive mistake to make it 2-0. Brooke Johnston forced a couple of good saves from the Convoy keeper late on as Raphoe pressed for a goal, but they couldn’t find a way through, and the visitors took the win.
Drumbar United 2-3 Finn Valley
Donegal Town 5-3 St Catherines
Group 2:
Glenea United 3-1 Gweedore Celtic
Both teams started strongly, with few chances early on. After 10 minutes, Gweedore’s Aoife McGee broke the deadlock with a great solo run, beating two defenders and calmly placing the ball into the bottom corner.
Just two minutes later, Genevieve Corcoran went close for Glenea when her cross from a tight angle rattled the crossbar. Moments later, Aoife Meehan won the ball in midfield and played a perfect through ball to Genevieve Corcoran, who finished smartly past the keeper to level the game. On 25 minutes, Shauna Doohan made a driving run into the box, beating two defenders, but her shot rolled just wide of the post. Glenea took the lead in the 33rd minute when Shauna Doohan won the ball in midfield and passed to Aine Mangan, who spotted the keeper off her line and fired in a brilliant shot from 25 yards. In the second half, Gweedore pushed forward with some dangerous runs, especially from Aoife McGee, but Glenea’s defence held firm. On the 60-minute mark, Genevieve Corcoran pressed the Gweedore defence and struck quickly from the edge of the box, beating the keeper at the near post for her second of the night. It was a strong team performance from Glenea, with standout effort from Minnie Coyle, who worked tirelessly throughout the game.
Glenree Academy 2-5 Gweedore United
Sunset on Sheephaven Bay was the backdrop to this U16 encounter, where Gweedore took all 3 points from the Parish of Mevagh. It was end to end action for the first 20 mins, and it was the visitors who broke the deadlock, and they went on to have a purple patch for 15 mins, scoring 4 goals. Not to be disheartened at halftime, the home team regained their composure and replied very quickly in the 2nd half with a wonder goal from outside the box from our right winger
Sophia Gorney and Tara Coyle doubled Glenree’s tally 5 mins later with a well-worked goal after great play out of defence.
The Glenree Girls can take more positives from this game leading into an away day to Gweedore Celtic next week.
There were strong performances from Niamh Kelly, Alesha Coyle, Tara Coyle, Emily Boyce, and Mia McGettigan.

Milford United 3-2 Ballyraine
Milford just about scraped past Ballyraine, playing in perfect conditions. Milford started brightly and were passing the ball around well without creating any scoring opportunities. Milford opened the scoring when Ballyraine failed to clear an Ava Greer corner and Lucy Sweeney headed in from close range. Ballyraine came more into the game and were dangerous with balls in behind the Milford defence. Emer Cassidy brought the teams level on twenty minutes when she latched onto a ball over the top and finished from a tight angle. The second half continued in much the same fashion, with neither team creating too much in the last third. An Ava Greer free kick put Milford ahead on 70 minutes, and Ballyraine scored their second when Grace McGlynn scored from the edge of the box on 75 minutes. Kara McAteer put Milford ahead with minutes to go. Ballyraine had a great chance to level the game when Milford were caught trying to play out, but unfortunately for Ballyraine, the ball went agonisingly over the bar. Good game from both sides, with thanks to Kevin O’Donnell for his excellent refereeing.
Mulroy Academy 4-0 Bonagee United
Mulroy Academy secured a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Bonagee United this evening in ideal conditions at Rabs Park.
The home side started strongly and went into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead. Aishling Duffy was instrumental in the first half, providing assists for all three goals. The opener came from a well-delivered corner, finished confidently by Erin Logue. Shortly after, Úna Sweeny latched onto a precise through ball to slot home Mulroy’s second, and the third came from another Duffy corner, this time met by Aoibhinn Callaghan, who directed a powerful header into the net.
Bonagee responded positively after the interval and pushed hard in search of a goal. However, Mulroy held firm defensively, and it was Kaycie Gallagher who sealed the win, breaking through the Bonagee back line and calmly finishing a 1v1 to make it four. A strong team performance from Mulroy Academy, combining sharp attacking play with disciplined defending to earn all three points and a clean sheet.

Thanks to Liam McLaughlin for his brilliant officiating.
Group 3:
Cappry Rovers Bs 0-6 Donegal Town Bs
Cappry B played Donegal B on a very wet evening at the Finn Valley Centre. From the start, Donegal Town scored a few quick goals, and it took Cappry some time to get a hold of the game. Cappry had a good 15 minute spell in the first half, which slowed down the visitors, but as the second half started, Donegal’s fast wingers were causing Cappry lots of trouble, and some lovely goals were scored again. The game ended with a Donegal Town victory. A big thanks to referee Ryan Carlin and Donegal Town management, who made it a good, fair battle.
Group 4:
Mulroy Academy 4-2 Glenree

Aoibheen Blaney scored shortly after with a good finish to find the bottom corner. Milford continued to play good football in the second half with Tessa Grier finishing from close range for a third. Lucy Sweeney got a well-deserved goal after being played through by the excellent Lucy McNulty. A great team performance from Milford with Holly Gordon the standout performer for Ballyraine.
