The Opportunity
This position reports directly to the Yard Supervisor and plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations within the yard. Key responsibilities include liquid milk intake. The successful candidate will be involved in milk intake, the treatment plant, recycling processes, and the yard store areas. This role offers an excellent opportunity to train and develop as a multi-skilled Yard Operative in a team working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately document milk tanker details at the weighbridge during milk intake
- Safely offload and pump liquid milk into the correct silo in accordance with intake procedures
- Complete production requests efficiently and in line with operational requirements
- Carry out cleaning and washing of tankers to uphold strict hygiene standards
- Operate forklifts and handle materials within the yard and store areas (training will be provided)
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures in compliance with company policy
- Perform general yard and supply chain duties as required
- Work on a shift basis, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as necessary- Working Hours: 07:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday
- Engage with and support cross-functional teams within the site as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A strong team-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively with others
- Good communication skills with a proactive, positive attitude
- The ability to work independently and use initiative in a fast-paced environment
- A flexible approach to work duties and willingness to take on varied responsibilities
- Good written and basic computer skills for record keeping and documentation
- A valid, full clean B driving licence
- Forklift experience is desirable but not essential – training will be provided
