An astonishing €117,000 has been raised for four-year-old Zach McCrossan in just 24 hours.
The young St Johnston boy was recently diagnosed with a rare blood disorder – one that can not be treated in the Republic of Ireland.
He requires a bone marrow transplant to treat the disorder, and has been referred to the Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Adding to the family’s situation, Zach’s mum Patrice is also undergoing treatment for acute myeloid leukemia.
The fundraiser was launched to help Zach go to the Netherlands, and to pay for their travel, accommodation and basic necessities in the Netherlands – where he’s expected to be an inpatient for at least 3 months.
However, the community of East Donegal has come together to raise an astonishing €117,000 in the day following its launch.
You can donate to it, and find out more about his story here.
