On this coming Easter Sunday, republicans will gather all over Ireland to remember the men and women of every generation who have given their lives in the struggle for Irish freedom.
The Drumboe Martyrs Commemoration Committee will hold its Annual Commemoration in Stranorlar, assembling at Mc Cool Terrace, Main Street, Stranorlar at 2.30pm.
The main oration this year will be delivered by Martin Duffy Lurgan, Vice President of Sinn Féin Poblachtach (Republicans Sinn Féin).
A wreath will be laid at the execution site at Drumboe Woods in remembrance of the four men who were executed there 101 years ago (Lieut. Dan Enright, Lieut. Timothy O’Sullivan, Comm. General Charles Daly and Brig. Comdt. Sean Larkin).
Local ceremonies will take place over the Easter weekend at graveyards throughout Donegal, Tyrone and Derry,(Conwal Cemetery Letterkenny, Murlough Lifford, Clady Bridge, Donnyloop, Strabane and Melmount Cemeteries taking place on Easter Saturday).
The Drumboe Martyrs Commemoration Committee has extended a warm invitation to all who wish to attend on Sunday to commemorate all those brave men and women who died in defence of an All Ireland democracy.
Sinn Féin Poblachtach (Republican Sinn Féin) Derry will also hold its Annual Commemoration in the City Cemetery at 12pm on Easter Sunday.
