A young boy with Donegal roots secured a brilliant fourth-placed finish at the recent World Irish Dance Championships in Dublin at the weekend.
Tiernan Beattie is the son of Eimear Beattie (McGlinchey), a proud Glenfin woman who emigrated to Perth 15 years ago along with her husband, Anthony.
However, young Tiernan has kept fully in touch with his Irish roots as an outstanding Irish dancing talent.
Having already secured a top-10 finish in last year’s worlds, he made the journey to Dublin to again compete on the world stage in the U12 category.
He danced his way to a fantastic fourth-placed finish, claiming his own globe trophy to bring back with him as well.
To add to the occasion, Tiernan’s success also fell on the same date as his late grandmother’s birthday – an accomplished Irish dancer in her own right.
