The Donegal Community Garden Network is to host a Spring Herbal Foraging Workshop in collaboration with Anamcara Healing Herbs.
This free event will take place on Thursday, April 24th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at The Niall Mór Centre in Killybegs.
Led by Columbia Hillen, a qualified and insured Clinical Herbalist, the workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore Ireland’s native plants and herbs in their natural environment.
Columbia holds a Diploma in Herbal Medicine and is a registered member of both the Irish Register of Herbalists and the Association of Master Herbalists.
Participants will learn how to identify and use common native herbs found in the Irish landscape, with practical guidance on how these wild plants can be incorporated into food and used for natural remedies.
The session includes an introduction to herbal foraging, hands-on experience, and useful tips for recognising, collecting, and preparing herbs.
Joanne Butler, Climate Action Officer, DLDC, said, “We’re delighted to be hosting this workshop in Killybegs. It’s a great chance for people to reconnect with the land and learn how to identify and use the herbs growing all around us.
“Working with Columbia and Anamcara Healing Herbs gives people access to real, practical knowledge that’s often been lost over time. There’s something empowering about knowing the plants under our feet have healing properties, and this workshop will help people rediscover that.”
This workshop is supported by the Donegal Local Development SICAP Programme and is open to all. While the event is free, spaces are limited, and booking is essential.
