Two Donegal girls are doing their bit for cancer research by jumping out of a plane at 15,000 ft in Australia today!
Caoimhe Gorrell from Donegal Town and her pal Aisling McGrath from Ballyshannon will jump from the plane in a skydive above Airlie Beach in Queensland later today.
The girls (neither of whom like heights!) are hoping to raise €1,000 and conquer their fears.
The girls said “We are raising vital funds for this charity because it provides essential support, care and research for those affected by cancer in Ireland. Both Aisling and I have had people we love dearly either diagnosed with cancer or family members who have sadly passed away from cancer.
“Therefore, we feel strongly about raising funds to help support those people diagnosed and battling cancer as well as their families affected by cancer.
“Every day families across the country face the devastating impact of a cancer diagnosis and the Irish Cancer society is there to offer free services like counselling, patient transport, night nursing and ensuring no one has to go through their cancer journey alone.”
They have already raised more than €500 and would like to hit a target of €1,000.
Anybody who wants to drop them a wee donation can do so at the link below.
Best of luck from all of us back home.
