A man has been arrested following the discovery of another man’s body in Killybegs yesterday.
Gardaí have confirmed that a man, aged in his 60s, was arrested this morning.
He is being detained at a Garda Station in Co Donegal under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The deceased has been named locally as Eddie Friel. Mr Friel, who was in his 60s, lived alone in a bungalow on the Harbour View Drive estate in the fishing town.
His body was found at the quiet estate at approximately 12.20pm yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí have been carrying out investigations and door-to-door enquiries since the discovery.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and those with information to come forward.
