Parents of children denied places at the Little Angels Special School in Letterkenny are planning a local protest over claims of inaction from the Department of Education.
After sleeping on the streets of Dublin and meeting with Minister of State for Special Education Michael Moynihan TD last week, the parents are still awaiting confirmation of school placements for their children this September.
Members of the ‘Don’t Forget Our Little Angels’ campaign said they left last week’s meeting with Minister Moynihan feeling optimistic, as they were advised that they would receive an update on Monday.
However, after two days without a response, they said: “The silence is deafening, and we remain in limbo, filled with worry and exhaustion.”
“Despite the promises made, we have yet to receive any direct response from Minister Michael Moynihan regarding school placements for our children in Little Angels School this September.
“In light of this, we are now moving forward with plans to hold a protest in Letterkenny on Sunday as part of our ongoing campaign for justice and fairness.”
Details on the protest will be announced in due course.
