A driver is due to appear in court after being caught drug-driving in Letterkenny over the weekend, among other offences.
The driver was initially detected speeding at 139KPH in a speed zone of 100KPH.
When stopped by the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit, the driver tested positive for cocaine.
It then transpired that the driver did not have insurance, tax or NCT on the car and they had a false insurance disc displayed.
“An arrest was made, the vehicle was seized and the driver involved will now receive a number of Fixed Charge Penalty Notices and a date to appear in Court,” said a garda spokesperson.
“Never take unnecessary risks on the roads.”
