Donegal 0-08 v 1-08 Cork
Donegal’s Ladies footballers were defeated in their final league game of the season this afternoon, despite a strong showing against Cork.
Cork may have already booked their place in the Division 2 Final against Galway, but Donegal put up a fighting performance against one of the division’s elite sides at the Fr Tierney Park in Ballyshannon.
An early goal from Cork’s Aine O’Sullivan and a barrage of scores saw them vault to a 1-06 to 0-02 lead just midway through the first half.
Their scoring run was slowed greatly as the half came to an end however, as Donegal got their feet under themselves to enter half-time down 1-07 to 0-04.
Donegal would come further into the game in the second half, as Suzanne White brilliantly led the line yet again – her total of six points in this fixture keeping Donegal in it.
However despite Cork only notching one second-half score, and White notching a total of six points for Donegal, Cork’s goal was enough for them to leave Ballyshannon with the win.
