Two young men have been seriously injured following an overnight road collision in County Westmeath.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the crash shortly after 2:30am this morning, on the N4 at Rathowen village.
The two male occupants of the vehicle, aged in their 20s, were rushed to Tullamore Hospital for treatment of what are believed to be serious injuries.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have closed the road in order to conduct their examinations into the circumstances of the collision.
Anyone who witnessed the accident, or was travelling in the area near the time of the accident and has dash cam footage, has been asked to come forward to Gardaí.
