There is deep sadness following the passing of popular Glenfin GAA man Fergal Marley.
Fergal was well known for representing Glenfin on the pitch, before becoming involved behind the scenes at the club and also becoming a referee.
His beloved club led tributes to him following the news of his passing.
“Everyone at CLG Ghleann Fhinne is deeply saddened following the death of Fergal Marley, former player, committee member and lifelong supporter of the club,” they said via social media.
“We extend our sincere condolences to his partner John, his mother Noreen, sister Fionnuala, nephew Caolan and nieces Leah and Aoibhinn, and to all the extended Marley family.”

The death has taken place of Fergal Marley, Gortiness, Cloghan, Co.Donegal. Fergal is predeceased by his father, Willie. Fergal will be sadly missed by his partner, John, his mother, Noreen, his sister Fionnuala, his nephew Caolán, and his nieces Leah and Aoibhin.

Fergal’s remains will repose at the family home, from 1pm, Saturday 22 March 2025, until 9pm. Fergal’s funeral mass will take place on Sunday, 23 March 2025, in Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin, at 11am, with interment afterwards in Kilteevoge Cemetery, Glenfin. A rosary will take at 8pm on Saturday, with family time from 9pm, and on morning of funeral.
