Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher TD has confirmed a grant of €10,350 has been approved for the provision of a swim shelter at Goal Island pier.
The purpose of the funding is to develop and enhance community facilities and amenities on our offshore islands.
“The swim shelter at the top of the pier will be used by both swimmers and those awaiting the ferry, as well as the many who walk Shlí Ghabhla which is part of Bhealach na Gaeltachta agus Slí an Atlantaigh Fhiáin,” Deputy Gallagher said.
The works will be undertaken by Donegal County Council.
Sanctioned by Minster Dara Calleary, the funding is part of the Clar Measure 3 programme.
