Tuesday was a day of major achievements at Leckview Park as Donegal Horizons CLG held a major Football Blitz for adults with intellectual disabilities.
The event, organised in partnership with FAI Ireland and Donegal Sports Partnership, drew in 21 teams and 174 participants, making it the largest event of its kind in Ireland this year.
Loreto Letterkenny Transition Year Future Leaders Class, guided by their teacher, Emer Frie, played a crucial role in the running of the event by refereeing, coaching, and managing team registrations.
The initiative, a collaboration between Donegal Horizons’ senior key worker Seamie Friel and Paul Smith of the FAI, launched last year and has quickly flourished, with Tuesday’s event being the third successful staging.
