Carrigans dairy farmer Shannon Porter has been elected to the IFA Farm Business Committee.
Shannon, who runs The Milk Bar from her family farm, will represent Donegal on the national committee for business issues facing farm families.
In 2021, Shannon opened Donegal’s first milk vending machine for bottled pasteurised milk, fresh from the Porter farm.
Farm Business Committee focuses on taxation policies, credit issues, and providing support to farmers facing financial challenges.
Shannon was elected to the committee position at Donegal IFA AGM last night.
The meeting also saw William Kelly from Pettigo receiving an Honorary Life Membership from the branch.
