Dunkineely Community Ltd is inviting members of the public to come and celebrate St Patrick with them at their annual parade this weekend.
Describing the village as a ‘small place with a big celebration’, it will host the event on Saturday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
The main street will be closed during this time with diversions in place. Ample parking will be available at the local mart.
Introduction to Local Folklore
DCL introduces a 6 week course ‘Introduction to Local Folklore’. Join the course to learn about the rich tapestry of our cultural heritage. Learn about legends, lores, cures and practices that define our community. Perfect for history enthusiasts, storytellers and the curious. Beginners welcome. Course takes place in Dunkineely Community Centre, from 20 th March, Thursdays 6.30 – 8.30pm , total course cost is €10. Local Deaths
The death has occurred of Marion Darcy (nee Lightholder), Bruckless and Ballyfermot. Peacefully in the caring hands of the staff at Donegal Hospice surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank. Forever loved and deeply missed by her daughters Naomi (Noel), Sonia (Philip), Fiona (Antoine), Laura (Shaun) and Orla (Terence), her adoring grandchildren Luke, Chloe, Katie, Ella, Molly May, Tilly, Rhys, Poppy, Brooke, Lottie, Paige and Isla. Her brother Gearoid, son Stuart and children, Caoimhe and Michael.
The death has also occurred of John Sheridan, Ballyloughan, Bruckless and Carrick Sheltered Housing, peacefully in the exceptional care of the staff at Donegal Hospice, surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents Charlie and Mary, infant brother and sister, Paul and Kathleen and brother in law Francie Cunningham. Sadly missed and deeply loved by his daughters Charmaine and Michelle and son in law Shay, his adoring grandchildren Leighann, Samantha, Richard, Stewart and Owen, his brothers, Charles (Susan), Des (Karolyn), Francis, Connor and Maurice, sisters Bernie (Francie RIP), Irene (Sean) and Kathleen, his nieces, nephews, extended family, good neighbours and friends.

Bruckless National School – Cash for Clobber
You can help raise funds for the school by donating unwanted clothing, shoes (pairs), handbags and belts. Donations can be left into the school up until Friday 21st March. Pillows and duvets cannot be accepted for hygiene reasons. Contact 074 9737366 for further information.
Killaghtee National School
Killaghtee NS invites you to join them for their annual Table Quiz. Taking place on Saturday 22 nd March at 7.30pm in Dunkineely Community Centre. All proceeds go to supporting our school’s programmes and activities. Refreshments available and there will be a raffle on the night with great prizes.
