Shock has been expressed at the sudden death of a young Donegal woman in New York.
Jenna Shovlin (31), originally from The Rock, Clogher West, Portnoo, passed away in Manhattan on Saturday following what is believed to have been a brief illness.
Posting on its social media channels last night, Ardara GAA Club said the late Ms Shovlin had a smile that ‘lit up every room she went into.’
“Jenna was a beautiful girl who had made a new life for herself in New York, and was a person who made a lasting impression on whoever she met, with a smile that lit up every room she went into,” they said.
“The news of her passing has left a black cloud over our Parish once more. We offer our deepest condolences to (parents) Frankie, Kathleen, Christopher, Keith and to the extended Shovlin and Furey families on Jenna’s death.”
As part of the parish Lenten programme, there was Devotions and Rosary yesterday evening in St Conal’s Church, Kilclooney.
“We’re offering our prayers this evening in support of Frankie,Kathleen, Christopher and Keith Shovlin on the death of their daughter and sister Jenna in New York.”
