Donegal athlete Arlene Crossan recorded a sixth-placed finish in the Final of the 4x400m relay final at the European Indoor Athletics Championships this evening.
The Finn Valley AC runner was part of an Irish quartet that faced stiff world-class competition.
Arlene was third in the Irish lineup, and provided a fine leg for her team.
Crossan was called up at a moment’s notice following an injury to Sharlene Mawdsley and Phil Healy pulling out due to illness.
The Dutch took gold in the women’s 4x400m, spurred on by their home crowd and the effort of 400m superstar Femke Bol to a Championship Record time.
Donegal and Ireland have both seen fantastic medal successes at the European Indoor Championships, with Donegal’s Mark English scoring a bronze medal in the men’s 800m earlier today.
Sarah Healy scored gold for Ireland in the women’s 3000m, and Kate O’Connor added another bronze medal to the tally in the women’s pentathlon.
