Vatican officials say that Pope Francis is showing slight signs of improvement, as he is entering his fourth week in hospital in Rome.
“The night was calm, the pope is resting,” the Vatican said in their latest brief Sunday morning update, following positive news on the Pontiff’s outlook that was delivered last night.
Vatican officials said that the Pope’s condition had remained stable over recent days, which indicated “…a good response to the treatment.”
While officials noted that there had been “gradual, slight improvement” – any prognosis on how his condition will remain guarded as doctors wait to see if he continues to show positive signs.
Pope Francis has now missed his fourth weekly Sunday Angelus in a row, marking his longest spell out of the public’s view during his papacy.
