The Letterkenny Chess Club is offering free open evenings for any adults who are interested in joining.
The club hosts Adult Chess Evenings every Wednesday at 6pm at Letterkenny Community Centre, with over 18s, including beginners, invited to come along for a free trial.
Letterkenny Chess Club was established in January of 2019, and formally agreed a Club Constitution and a Club Rules and Etiquette on the 10th of January, 2019 and is affiliated with both the Irish Chess Union and the Ulster Chess Union.
It aims to provide a safe environment for people to play, learn and enjoy the game of chess, while also encouraging social interaction between members.
The club has also established a personal link with Mr Alexander Baburin, who is Ireland’s only Chess Grandmaster, and is supportive of the club’s efforts.
