Donegal’s Minor footballers got their 2025 Ulster Minor League campaign off to a winning start this afternoon.
They hosted Cavan at O’Donnell Park, with Barry Ward’s boys facing an uphill task after the first half.
At one stage Donegal were down 7 points as their provincial rivals struck the back of the net through Cathal Smith.
However a second half surge from Donegal and a team scoring effort brought the scores level as the referee’s watch struck the hour mark, 0-13 to 1-10.
Donegal’s Cathal Doherty made the difference, striking the back of the net in the 62nd minute to seal a fantastic comeback performance.
