Last weekend saw the Indoor season really kick off for Rosses AC with the Ulster Juvenile Indoor Track and Field Championships in Athlone.
It was another great weekend for the club with a large number making the journey to TUS Athlone. Over the two days, the club had 15 athletes qualify for the All Irelands in four weeks time with over 25 medals as well as a number of 4th place finishes which also qualify. There was a great spread of medals won in many events with the Long Jumpers and High Jumpers having a really good day. There were a number of strong performances that just missed out on medals and many personal bests. Big thanks to all the parents, coaches and officials who travelled and especially those who cover both days. All the hard work over the past few months has paid off and the 2 days were rounded off with a super performance by the u13 girls relay team which raised the roof with the noise and excitement that relays bring. Well done to all.

Well done to our club coaches who recently attended the Endurance Running & Fit4Life Coaching Course at Pobalscoil na Rosann. This course was subsidised by Donegal Sports Partnership and provided certification from Athletics Ireland & Coaching Ireland. We’re delighted to support coaches of all levels in enhancing their skills across all sports.
Last week also saw Fodhla Nic Phaidhin win the Long Jump at the last Track and Field Live event for this year at National Indoor Arena Dublin. Fodhla produced a great jump of 5.23m to secure the gold and further her season’s best. As the indoor season concludes, she will now focus her training on the outdoors.
