The Letterkenny Blaze U14 Boys Basketball Team recently won the Northwest Area Board League, and in doing so have secured a spot in the All Ireland Club Championships (AICCs).
The team finished a remarkable season with 9 wins out of 10 league games, showcasing their skill, dedication, and team spirit.
The team’s hard work and determination have paid off, and they now look forward to representing their club on the national stage at the AICCs which will be held in Gormanston on 5th & 6th April.
A huge thank you goes out to the parents for their unwavering support throughout the season.
Thanks also to the team’s coaches Mary McBrearty and Emer Mannion, junior coaches Aoibhe McBrearty and Thady Barrett, with assistance from Evan McLoughlin and Laura Deeney.
The commitment and encouragement they have shown has played a vital role in the team’s success.
Over the coming weeks the team will be fundraising to ensure all players can participate fully and enjoy the experience.
The team would like to thank all their sponsors, including Stride Foot & Ankle Clinic Donegal Town, Tin Tai Letterkenny who will be keeping the boys hydrated during their trip, Donegal Stationary Letterkenny who are kindly sponsoring t-shirts, and Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure who have sponsored a Donegal jersey that has been signed by the Donegal Team!
This special jersey is being raffled off to raise funds for the trip. Please check out the Letterkenny Blaze Facebook and Instagram pages, or contact coach Mary (086 8552486) or Emer (086 0651985) for details.
All donations are very much appreciated!
Best of luck to the boys as they prepare for the upcoming challenge in Gormanstown!
