Jury in Sliabh Liag murder trial adjourn until tomorrow

The jury in the Sliabh Liag murder trial have been sent home for the night.

Two people are on trial for the murder of Robert Wilkin whose body was found in the water off the south west Donegal cliffs.

Alan Vial (39) of Drumanoo Head, Killybegs, and Nikita Burns (23) of Carrick, have pleaded not guilty to the murder of the 66-year-old on June 25, 2023.

The jury sitting at the Central Criminal Court have been deliberating all day today but they have still not reached a verdict.

They began their deliberations yesterday at 2pm and adjourned at 4pm.

The jury were sent home today at 4.10pm and have been told by Judge Paul McDermot to return tomorrow at 10.30am to continue their deliberaitons.
