A driver in Donegal has been caught speeding during the first few hours of National Slowdown Day.
The motorist was clocked doing 117km/h in a 100km/h zone on the N15 at Coolcholly, Ballyshannon.
An Garda Síochána, supported by the Road Safety Authority (RSA) and other stakeholders, is conducting a national speed enforcement operation which runs for 24 hours from 00:00 to 23:59 today.
So far this National #Slowdown Day, members of An Garda Síochána, along with GoSafe Mobile and Static Safety Cameras, have detected a total of 106 vehicles travelling in excess of the applicable speed limit.
The highest speed, 136km/h in a 100km/h Zone, was recorded on the N3 at Lavey, Stradone, Co. Cavan
