A search is underway for two men who assaulted and robbed a teenage boy on Main Street Letterkenny.
The shocking incident took place on Tuesday 18th of February, when a boy was confronted by two males who were not known to him.
The male teenager was walking near the foot of Church Lane on the Main Street at 7.30pm when he was first approached.
“Both males assaulted the teenager,” said gardaí.
“The injured teenager managed to run up Upper Main Street but he was followed by one of the males who demanded that he hand over his money.
“He did so and the two males then left the area on foot towards Lower Main Street.”
Gardaí have been trawling CCTV footage and noted a number of people were in the area in vehicles and also on foot at the time.
They are now appealing to any of those people who may have relevant information to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.
“If anybody travelled at Main Street, Letterkenny between 7.20pm and 7.40pm on February 18th with a dash cam, we ask them to make the footage available to us,” a spokesperson said.
