The CEO of Comhar Creidmheasa Ghaoth Dobhair, Annemarie Uí Colla, has been appointed to the Credit Union Managers Association (CUMA) board of directors.
CUMA is the representative body for management teams of credit unions in Ireland. It engages with the Central Bank of Ireland, The Department of Finance, The Irish League of Credit Unions and a range of industry leaders to maintain standards of excellence in the credit union sector.
“It is a prestigious accolade to be asked to join the board of directors,” as Annemarie explains, “one of my career highlights”.
“The professional body has an incredible team and to now be a part of this is an exceptional opportunity and accreditation that I was delighted to accept.
“As the main financial provider in the Gaeltacht, we have worked hard to ensure our community has the financial support they need, remaining open for business with our offices in Derrybeg and Falcarragh, when other financial businesses left the area.”
In 2024, Comhar Creidmheasa Ghaoth Dobhair lent its members €6.1million, just short of €1m more since 2023, and is ranked No 6 credit union in Ireland.
“With free life insurance, loan protection, online banking and dedicated loan officers, we remain dedicated to our members and, with this role, I can further enhance and remain committed to the credit union sector and what we can offer all our members nationwide,” concluded Ms Uí Colla.
