GAA President Jarlaith Burns had a quick cuppa with a pair of Donegal stars ahead of the GAA’s annual congress which officially opens in Donegal Town today.
Jarlaith stopped by McBrew in the town for a chat with Donegal stars Ryan McHugh and Peadar Mogan ahead of the congress, which is in Donegal for the first time in over 30 years.
The launch of the congress is this evening, with the major motions up for debate in Donegal Town’s Abbey Hotel on Saturday.
Amongst the proposals includes a potential shake-up of the All-Ireland Championship format, with proposals in place to introduce a more traditional knock-out rounds system in place of the current round robin groups to decide the All-Ireland quarter finalists.
Other motions including the reintroduction of replays for provincial and All-Ireland finals will be tabled also.
