There are currently 8,279 Ukrainian nationals living across Donegal, according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
Almost half of those, 3,527, have been placed in the south and south west of the county according to the number of PPS numbers issued.
A breakdown of the figures by Local Electoral Area (LEA) is as follows: Carndonagh (1,027); Buncrana (582); Milford (781), Letterkenny (1,616), Lifford-Stranorlar (716), Glenties (1,520) and Donegal (2,007). The figure for the Donegal LEA represents 7.1% of the population there.
Nationally, there have been 112,889 arrivals from Ukraine in Ireland over the last three years.
The data was compiled by analysing the number of Personal Public Service Numbers (PPSNs) given to arrivals from Ukraine between 04 March 2022 and 02 February 2025, under the Temporary Protection Directive.
