A Portnablagh man is to stand trial for endangering the life of his neighbour by allegedly driving his car at him.
Jonathan Stewart appeared before Falcarragh District today where he was served with a book of evidence in the case.
Stewart, with an address at Port Na Blagh, Dunfanaghy has been charged in connection with an incident on June 24th last.
The 49-year-old accused man has been charged that he did did intentionally or recklessly engage in conduct by driving a vehicle at Kyle Hartle putting his life at risk.
The charge is contrary to Section 13 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.
Garda Sergeant Jim Collins gave evidence of serving Stewart with a book of evidence in the case.
Sergeant Collins told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had directed that the matter be dealt with by way of trial on indictment and sent forward to the current sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court.
Stewart’s solicitor, Mr Marshall McCloughan, informed the court that he had applied for a junior counsel in the matter at this point.
Judge Eiteain Cunningham applied the alibi warning.
Stewart was released on bail on the same conditions.
The case was adjourned to the current sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court.
