Donegal’s Patrick McBrearty has been named as the GAA’s Footballer of the Week.
It’s after his talismanic performance for Donegal against Armagh at the weekend powered his side to their third win in three league contests so far this year.
McBrearty kept the Orchard County’s defenders on their toes as he notched a brilliant six scores against the reigning All-Ireland champions.
He was voted by the public via a poll as Footballer of the Week for his excellent scoring performance and all-around effort in propelling his side to the win.
It also marks the second time in this national league campaign that a Donegal player has won the award, with Ryan McHugh being awarded the honour for his performance against Kerry last week.
