Young Finn Harps star Gavin McAteer made his first Irish international start as the Ireland U17 squad were victorious over the weekend.
The Ireland U17s defeated Hungary 4-3 in a friendly held in Oliva Nova on the west coast of Spain.
It was a big occassion for Finn Harps’ Gavin McAteer, as he got the start in midfield for Ireland and played 47 minutes in the winning effort.
It follows on from McAteer making his first international appearance as a substitute for the U17s earlier in the week against Finland.
Finn Harps congratulated the young midfielder on making his international debut via social media.
