The Sliabh Liag murder at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin has been adjourned until February 24th after an ‘issue’ arose today.
Two people are on trial for the murder of Robert Wilkin whose body was found in the water off the south west Donegal cliffs.
Alan Vial (39) of Drumanoo Head, Killybegs, and Nikita Burns (23) of Carrick, have pleaded not guilty to the murder of the 66-year-old on June 25, 2023.
A number of people including family and friends of those charged have so far given evidence.
The case has lasted three weeks to date.
However, Mr Justice Paul McDermot, said today that an issue had arisen that needed to be addressed by both the prosecution and defence.
As a result, Justice McDermot adjourned the case until February 24, adding the trial would enter its final stages that week.
