Gardaí have issued traffic and travel advice as thousands are expected in Ballybofey on Sunday for Donegal’s clash with All-Ireland champions, Armagh.
The eagerly anticipated match, which could see the return of Michael Murphy, will throw-in at MacCumhaill Park at 3.45pm.
Traffic delays are to be expected both before and after the match.
“While we endeavour to assist traffic movement as much as possible, the large numbers attending will result in unavoidable delays. Adding additional time for your journey is advised,” Garda Grainne Doherty said.
Parking will be available in several car parks around the Twin Towns.
“We advise people to utilise these areas fully. With such large attendance, any vehicles causing an obstruction will be towed,” Gda Doherty added.
“This will be done to ensure a free flow of traffic, pre and post match.”
Limited parking for Blue Badge holders is available at car park at stand entrance (behind Villa Rose hotel). Vehicle access to this car park is via Back Road at Jackson’s Hotel. Once full there will be no vehicle access to this area.
There is limited disabled parking on Main Street and in the car parks in the area of the grounds.
Seán Mac Cumhaills will also be facilitating supervised parking at Ballybofey & Stranorlar Mart as indicated on the map with the club crest.
This car park is less than a 5 min walk to the grounds. The cost is €5 per car.
The car park will open from 12 noon and close 1 hour after the game. All proceeds raised will be used to support our underage development goals.
Further details in relation to parking facilities will be posted to the An Garda Síochána Donegal Facebook page later in the week.
