Residents are calling for urgent repairs to be carried out at a busy pedestrian crossing outside a school in east Donegal.
One of the flashing beacons at the zebra crossing at Dromore National School, Killygordon, was struck by a vehicle in late November. It has been out of action since.
One local resident told Donegal Daily the issue created a major health and safety risk to children and adults using the crossing. The road is used by hundreds of heavy vehicles each week going to and from the local Aurivo plant.
“This has been going on far too long and Donegal County Council needs to repair the beach and safety barrier as soon as possible,” they said.
Donegal County Council did not respond to our query in relation to the matter.
