Clg Ard An Ratha Drama Group took to the stage again last weekend in the Clubhouse to perform a three act comedy play called “Mammy’s Boy”.
Audiences were treated to a night of laughter as local actors put on a fantastic show for all of the three packed nights.
This is the seventh comedy performed by the local group and from the reaction they received there was no doubt it was a huge success.
The play was written by Jimmy Keary and directed by Noel O Donnell and assisted by Maire Therese Haughey.
The story follows Hughie McGarry, who is the apple of his mother Maisie’s eye. He returns after a two-year absence with plenty of debts, a dog-grooming girlfriend in tow and his sights set on the family home. But Hughie’s sister Betty and Maisie’s friend Joe see through him and try to spoil his schemes!
Bravo to the cast and crew on a brilliant production:

Karen Mc Connell – Bernie Burns
