Letterkenny Rovers emerged victorious in the Women’s 7-a-Side Winter League climax at Leckview Park on Monday evening.
The inaugural league saw an impressive 12 teams competing in a competition aimed at boosting women’s football in the county.
Organisers, players, and coaches alike were delighted that it proved to be a resounding success.
Looking ahead, the league is set to transition into its next phase with the League Cup and Shield competitions starting next Monday. This will pave the way for a shift to 9-a-side football in March, further expanding opportunities for players to develop their skills and enjoy the game.
A special note of thanks was extended to the referees, whose dedication ensured the smooth running of the league. Particular appreciation was given to Liam McLaughlin for his efforts in organising match officials.
With such a promising start, the Women’s 7-a-Side Winter League has set a strong foundation for the future, and the excitement only continues to build as the next phases approach.
