The official reopening of Lettermacaward Health Centre took place today – more than two years after the centre closed for renovations.
There was a huge sense of relief as locals celebrated the reopening of their local health centre.
For the past two years, those in need of treatment were forced to travel to Glenties Primary Care Centre.
But after a long battle, the ribbon was cut today on the refurbished centre.
A delay on the reopening of the centre was put down to the process of equipping it by the HSE.
But there was no such delay today as Deputies Pat the Cope Gallagher and Pearse Doherty came together to cut the ribbon at the reopening of the centre.
Also there were members of the Lettermacaward Health Centre Action Group who kept the pressure on the reopening of the centre whilst it was closed.
As well as staff at the centre including Dr Charlie McManus while Fr Eddie Gallagher was on hand to bless the centre.
Others who attended included county councillor Brian Carr as well as many local residents from the area.
