A Letterkenny man has appeared in court charged with making threats to kill or cause serious harm to two Gardai.
Oliver Quill appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court where he pleaded guilty to a total of four different charges.
The 50-year-old is charged with a series of charges following an incident at Crievesmith in Letterkenny on December 11th, 2020.
He is charged with making threats to kill both Garda Shane Walsh and Garda Brendan McElroy at Carrig Craobh, Crievesmith, Letterkenny on that date.
He is also charged with two counts of obstructing a police officer.
Quill, of Carrig Croabh, Crievesmith, only spoke to plead guilty to each of the four charges put to him.
Barrister for the accused, Mr Peter Nolan, SC, said his client had previous convictions of some extent and asked the court to consider if Quill was suitable for community service.
Mr Nolan informed the court that Quill had medical issues including a heart issue and diabetes and asked if his legal aid certificate could be extended to include a GP’s report on his overall health situation.
Judge John Aylmer agreed to the request and adjourned the case for final sentencing to the October session of the circuit court.
