Mark English has got his 2025 off to a strong start with a new Irish 800m indoor record in New York.
He set a rapid time of 1:45.15, breaking his own indoor record by almost a full second.
English set the record en route to a fourth-placed finish in the 800m race at the prestigious Millrose Games in New York on Saturday.
The winner of the race was American runner Josh Hoey, who also set his own new national record in a race ran at a rapid pace from the start.
