Gardaí say that three people were injured following a serious incident in Dublin this afternoon.
The three victims sustained what Gardaí described as “slashing-type injuries” in the seemingly random stabbing, which took place in the Stoneybatter area of the city just after 3pm.
According to the Irish Times, one of the victims was stabbed in their doorway as their returned home.
All three victims were rushed to hospital, with two of their conditions described as serious but not life-threatening, with the third victim suffering less serious injuries.
Following a Garda search of the local area, a male was arrested and taken to a Garda station in the Dublin region where he is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
