The legacy of 13-year-old Newmills boy Cameron White will be forever etched into Donegal badminton history following the launch of memorial cups this February.
The Cameron White Perpetual Cups for Under 13 Mixed Team Championships have been created by Cameron’s parents, Robert and Vienna White from Roughan, to celebrate young talent in the Donegal Badminton Branch.
The cups will be launched on Saturday 15th February at the 2025 Co. Donegal Millennium Juvenile Badminton Club Team Championships in the Templemore Sports Complex, Derry.
Cameron sadly passed away from Leukaemia in May 2024.
A first year student at the Royal and Prior in Raphoe, he was an avid hockey and badminton player. He always represented the Raphoe Badminton Club with pride and with a clear love of the game.
The Co. Donegal Millennium Juvenile Badminton Club Team Championships will see young players from across the county competing in Under 13 and Under 17 age groups. The day’s events will kick off at 9:30 am with the Under 13 and Under 17 mixed team competitions, followed by the boys’ and girls’ team events at approximately 1 pm. Presentations will take place later in the day.
