Further sections of Glenveagh National Park are reopening to the public today following major damage caused by Storm Éowyn.
Last week’s storm caused extensive damage to the park’s trees and trials.
From today, Friday, the the main car park, lake side walk, Castle, Visitor Centre, Lough Insagh trail and main glen trail will reopen. Buses will be running also.
The Gardens will partially reopen and visitors are asked to respect the signage and remain in the designated open areas whilst staff work to reopen the gardens fully.
The view point trail and Derylaghan trail remain fully closed due to fallen and dangerous trees. Visitors cannot enter these areas in the interest of safety.
As the clean-up operation progresses, park officials aim to fully reopen the remaining areas of Glenveagh National Park over the coming weeks.
