Donegal Town Credit Union is now inviting applications for the position of Finance Manager.
Donegal Town Credit Union is a progressive financial services provider with over 10,000 members and total
assets in excess of €57 million.

Principal Responsibilities of the Role:
- The FM will report to the CEO and will have overall responsibility for the Finance function including the delivery of timely and accurate financial management reporting.
- The FM will support the development and execution of the Credit Union’s Finance Strategy and ensure alignment with the overall objectives of the Strategic Plan.
- The FM will implement effective financial processes and controls to accurately measure and report financial performance and review all financial reports ensuring that underlying processes, review and controls have been completed in accordance with best practice, regulatory requirements and that the appropriate supporting detail is in place to substantiate final balances.
- The position focusses beyond standard financial reporting to analyse, model, and provide financial leadership and
consultancy to the Board, the CEO and the management team. While the FM will be responsible for the day-today execution of the finance function, they will assume leadership for the financial health of the Credit Union,
identifying internal or external variables that impact financial performance, anticipating potential future impacts and developing mitigation plans to address these issues should they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Completion of all internal and external reporting, including the preparation of monthly management
accounts
• Develop the financial analysis, business modelling and economics of operations to optimise the balance
of progressive service and growth and cost
• Responsible for preparing and monitoring monthly and annual budgets
• Responsibility for Payroll and all ancillary products
• Completion of bank and general ledger reconciliations, and support investment strategies
• Overall responsibility for Controls and Compliance in accounts, ensuring that all statutory requirements are
met
• Responsible for budgetary control, forecasting, and asset & liability management
• Provide assistance to the lending team when assessing the viability of commercial loans
• Liaise with the credit control function and provide support in optimising it’s benefit
• Support the CEO by providing analysis of financial information, with the provision of ad hoc reports that will
lead to new business initiatives and/or inform better financial management
• Liaise with key stakeholders such as auditors, advisors and the Central Bank as and when required
• Analyse product value and profitability across the suite of DTCU services
• Lead continuous, growth enabling efficiency improvement across DTCU to embed model longevity

The successful candidate should have the following:
* Qualified accountant with 5+ years’ industry or relevant practice experience. Experience in financial
services desirable
* Expert knowledge of accounting and financial analysis
* A good understanding of Credit Union rules and regulations
* Ability to plan, forecast, develop budgets, design financial models and oversee the implementation of
financial strategies
* A customer-centric focus ensuring that a first-class service is delivered to members
* Proficient in all Microsoft office products, especially Excel. Some expertise in Data Analytics
* Excellent report writing and presentation skills
* Ability to multi-task and work calmly under pressure
