A driver who was already banned from being behind the wheel has been arrested while on cocaine.
Gardaí from Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit stopped a car in the Convoy area on Monday night last.
After being tested, the driver subsequently tested positive for cocaine.
It was then established via the mobility app that the driver is disqualified from driving.
Gardai say there was no insurance in place and the car was seized.
The driver was arrested and court proceedings will follow.
A Garda spokesperson warned that they will be out in force this Bank Holiday weekend.
“Our Roads Policing Units will be out conducting checkpoints and speed checks this upcoming Bank Holiday Weekend as always and we urge all drivers to act responsibly. Never take unnecessary & dangerous risks on the roads.”
