Staff at Oakfield Park in Raphoe will have a busy few months ahead, after they felt the force of Storm Eowyn first-hand.
While the Park’s season is not set to begin until April, a major cleanup operation is now in store.
A number of trees were felled by the record-setting winds, with other debris across the park as well as further structural damage being caused in places also.
“Storm Eowyn’s fury has taken a toll on Oakfield Park, leaving many of our beloved trees down and areas damaged,” the Park said on social media.
“It’s heartbreaking to see the destruction, but we want to assure everyone that our dedicated team is already on the ground, working hard to clear the debris and beginning the long process of repair.”
“While we don’t open for the season until April 9th, we’re committed to restoring the park’s beauty in time for your next visit.”
“Our thoughts are with all those impacted by the storm and those still without power. Please stay safe, and know that we’re here with you in spirit as we recover together.”
“Thank you for your continued support.”
