Members of the Doe Amateur Swimming Club have raised an amazing €11,345 for a Parkinson’s charity based in the North West.
They dedicated their annual New Year’s Day Swim at Marble Hill to raising money for the Parkinson’s Ireland North West branch.
The charity was put forward by Bernice Alcorn and her friend Judith McKinley, who had both been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and used the services of the charity which operates in Donegal and Sligo.
Anne Fox from Parkinson’s Ireland was on hand to collect the cheque from the swimming club at an event held recently.
A massive well done and thank you to everyone who took part or helped out in any way, a fantastic amount was raised for a great charity,” the club said announcing the donation amount on social media.
